This qualification provides a comprehensive understanding of the specific and supplementary requirements related to the design, installation, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems and electrical energy storage systems, in domestic and small commercial settings. These requirements align with the current IET Code of Practices for both Solar Photovoltaic systems and Electrical Energy Storage Systems.

This qualification is aligned with the MCS requirements.
This qualification is designed as CPD for qualified electricians to be able to install and maintain small solar PV systems and Electrical energy Storage Systems. By completing this qualification, electricians can enhance their expertise in regard to solar PV infrastructure and associated Electrical Energy Storage systems, with the aim of ensuring safe and efficient installations.

Entry requirements

  • Open to anyone 18 or over
  • NVQ in Electrical Installation or Gold Card
  • Level 2 English and Maths are recommended

How will I be assessed?

This will be assessed via x2 multiple choice online exams & x2 practical assessments.
