What will I learn on this course?

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for Electricians that already hold their Level 3 in Electrical installation and wanting to gain knowledge in the area of testing and gain access to a approved electrician ECS card.

Course details

All operatives that want to progress to any of the following or similar; JIB grading as an Approved Electrician status, the NICEIC Electrical Contractor status or NAPIT’s Electrical Inspector Scheme. The Level 3 in Inspection and Testing ensure learners can professionally install and carry out initial verification and periodic inspection and testing on electrical installations. we recommend that candidates have competent knowledge of Electrical Installations and are up to date with current industry requirements.


Course Content
The course is assessed by one 2 hours multiple-choice exam, one short written exercise and one practical assessment. The Inspection and Testing course covers Domestic, Commercial and Industrial sectors.

  • Understand requirements for inspection and testing
  • Understand safety management procedures when undertaking inspection and testing
  • Understand the requirements for the inspection of electrical installations
  • Understand the requirements for testing electrical installations
  • Perform inspection and testing of electrical installations

Entry requirements

  • Open to anyone 18 or over
  • Level 3 in Electrcial Installation
  • Level 2 English and Maths are recommended

How will I be assessed?

This will be assessed via a multiple choice online exam, written paper exam and practical assessments.
