Who is this course for?
This course is for anybody who wants to carry out PAT testing, you must have completed this course in order to PAT test equipment. It is an ideal qualification for those electricians wishing to offer another service and for those who need to PAT test equipment for their company, such as caretakers, landlords and building service operatives.
What qualifications do I need?
No formal qualifications are required to enrol on this course.
What is involved with the Portable Appliance Testing?
On this course you will cover the following:
- Scope, objective and fundamental principles
- Definitions
- The law
- Fixed electrical installations
- Types of electrical equipment
- The electrical tests
- In-service Inspection and Testing
- Procedures for In-service Inspection and Testing
- Hands-on training
- Test Instruments
You will also have the opportunity to practice PAT testing a range of electrical items including kettles, toasters, extension leads etc.
What are my next steps?
After completing this course, you could progress on to our introduction to electrical installation course or level 2 diploma in Electrical Installation.
