If you are looking to become a fully qualified electrician and want to work in domestic, commercial and industrial locations the Level 3 2366 Diploma Electrical Installation qualification is now a recognised route.
Operatives working on or with voltages between 0-1000V AC are required to work competently to the BS7671. The 2382-18 City and Guilds qualification ensures learners have sufficient knowledge of the wiring regulations, how to use and access the book and apply the regulations to the real world.
All operatives that want to progress to any of the following or similar; JIB grading as an Approved Electrician status, the NICEIC Electrical Contractor status or NAPIT’s Electrical Inspector Scheme.
To hold the JIB ECS Gold Card you need to have achieved the City and Guilds 2357 NVQ. The 2357 NVQ requires candidates to have successfully completed their 2365 Level 3, 8202 technical certificate or 2330 Level 3 Diploma and to be working in the industry.
The Experienced Worker qualification is for electricians who have been working in the industry, as a practising electrician, for at least 5 years (not including time spent in full or part time training) but have not formally completed an industry apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 NVQ qualification.
